Enabling "CheatKeys"Quest For Fame has an undocumented feature called "Cheatkeys" that lets you play the game perfectly without touching the VPick. The feature was extremely useful when the game was developed for test purposes and now is a great way for players to get past the difficult parts of the game. Once setup, "CheatKeys" works with the F2 and F1 keys on the keyboard. Anytime during the game the F2 key can be pressed and, from that point on, all the notes will be played exactly as they should be. "CheatKeys" can then be shut off pressing the F1 key. - In the Virtual Music Entertainment group, point and click once on either the Quest For Fame icon or the Access all Areas icon. The name should become highlighted.
- Hold down the "Alt" key and press the Enter key.
- In the Program Item Properties dialog box, point and click once in the Command Line box. The blinking cursor should now be within the box
- Press the End key on the keyboard to go to the end of the Command Line. The last few characters will be . GSQ
- Add the following to the end of the Command Line : (SPACE)-cheatkeys. The end of the Command Line should now look like this:.GSQ -cheatkeys
- Click "OK".
- From the start up menu, point and click with the right mouse button on Start.
- Click on Open, then double click on the Programs icon.
- Double click on the Virtual Music Entertainment icon.
- Point and click once on either the Quest For Fame icon or the Open Access icon so that the name is highlighted.
- Hold down the Alt key and press the Enter key. The properties dialog box will open.
- Select Shortcut. Then point and click once in the box labeled Target.
- Press the End key so that the blinking cursor is at the end of the Target line (the last few characters will be .GSQ).
- Type the following at the end of the line: (space)(dash)cheatkeys
- The end of the line should now look like this: .GSQ -cheatkeys
- Click on "OK"
